Employment Opportunities

Jobs are a part of life and what we want to do and how we do it is our choice, but when we need the easiest and quickest way using computers is bound to be the answer. Countless jobs are now available in an office environment where they can do almost everything just on the computer.
One of the main and most evident ways computers have helped business employment is banking. Having the ability to automatically do transactions on the front desk of the shop meant jobs became so much easier and they had taken out the whole idea of human error in the process. Although swapping human power for computers meant it was less complicated and easier to sort out, it also meant that people would have to lose their jobs because they would be not needed. Computers are now being programmed to do almost anything and this means that the skills people once trained for during their life are becoming less important because computers are now able to do the same thing without fault and quicker! An example of computers out performing human work is bank transactions. Computers are now on some peak days processing over four thousand million financial transactions!!
As well as improving banking, computers have now become part of our offices. Computer programmes like word processor and excel have meant that people are no longer being hired to write reports and design presentations for businesses because anyone can do them now with a computer and faster.
However, with so many jobs being lost to computers just as many are being created. Call centres are being used more and more and are employing constantly.  One of the most well-known call centres are those in India. They go through calls for companies in the western world and are now in fact being trained to sound more like a European and are even using different names while in the call centres. Having these jobs on offer in countries like India creates a boost in employment as they need a huge amount of employees to deal with the calls. Not only do they get a job but they become better in foreign languages and get trained with computers.  These skills themselves are great to have and would help anyone get a job.
With computers offering such a huge choice of programmes people are making a living of almost everything they offer.  People are now making money off sites such as YouTube where they create videos and upload them. The highest earners use professional video software and can earn up to and over $315,000 a year. Without the development of computers and programmes people like Shane Dawson for example wouldn’t be able to be self-employed and earn his living off these sites. Currently over ten million channels have been made on YouTube with accounts being created each day in the hope of maybe earning money through the site.

As people turn to YouTube and other sites that offer self-employment, more people are being hired to make bigger advances in ICT which will eventually help everyone else and maybe even create a bigger opportunity for average people to become employed. These people are creating more jobs in the future and without them we wouldn’t have any employment opportunities from computing.
